Non Surgical facial treatments

Non surgical facial treatments are increasing in popularity.

It is no surprise that people want to look their best, and with non surgical cosmetic treatments more accessible and affordable, they have become more popular with the general public.

What non surgical facial treatments are there?

Botulinum Toxin Injections

Botulinum toxin injection (commonly known as Anti-wrinkle injections) has been used for many years to reduce wrinkles and relax the muscles that cause contraction and deep wrinkling of the skin.

The procedure is extremely effective, which is why it has been used by celebrities and become more popular with the general public. This is also a safe procedure when done by an experienced medical practitioner.

Areas that can be injected with Botox are:

  • Frown lines
  • Forehead
  • Crows feet around the eyes
  • Bunny lines across the nose
  • Chin crease or dimpling
  • Neck lines
  • Down turning mouth
  • Jaw for teeth clenching/bruxism or jawline shaping
  • Excessive sweating in armpits or  scalp line

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are not Botox, contrary to some of the public’s perception. Dermal fillers are essentially made from hyaluronic acid, which is a natural sugar molecule in your skin, and carefully placed injections of this can be very effective.

Dermal fillers can be used for a variety of reasons:

  • Cheek enhancement/contouring
  • Nose to mouth lines
  • Corners of the mouth / Marionette lines
  • Chin enhancement
  • Fine lines above the lip
  • Jaw line contouring
  • Lip enhancement – vermillion border /cupids bow /body of the lip
  • Tear trough shadow treatment under the eyes
  • Nose – non-surgical rhinoplasty
  • Temple hollows
  • Profile improvement from forehead to chin

From above you will see that you can replace loss of volume to the face with ageing, but also to fill for asymmetry, and also for enhancements such as lips and facial contouring.

Skin Treatments

Medical grade skincare can be effective to improve the appearance of your skin, addressing the quality of the skin, but also issues such as acne and pigmentation.

Microneedling

The Dermaroller device can be useful to stimulate new collagen production in your skin, helpful for scarring and skin rejuvenation. This works by creating small channels in the skin and stimulating your own body’s immune response to repair itself by producing new blood vessels and protein collagen.

Energy Devices

Energy devices include Ultrasound, radiofrequency and laser treatments, which can help with skin tightening and new collagen production. Often these devices are helpful to use with other treatments such as Botox and fillers to improve the general concerns and appearance of ageing skin.
