Line & Wrinkle Reduction

"Ageing is a fact of life, looking good for your age can be a reality"

Over time, lines and wrinkles develop as a result of facial ageing, environmental (sun exposure, smoking and lifestyle) and genetic factors.

Treatment Overview

Three key changes in the face that contribute to the appearance of ageing and wrinkle formation are:

  • Skin changes – loss of collagen and elastin leading to reduced elasticity of the skin
  • Bony changes – with age bone becomes thinner and more sunken
  • Volume changes –  movement of facial fat pads leads to downward movement and more sagging

We aim to help identify the cause and rectify these lines, with the help of the very latest safe, non-surgical, highly effective anti-ageing skin treatments.

Injectable procedures using Botox help to smooth out facial wrinkles caused by muscle activity, especially frown lines on the forehead, wrinkles around the eyes and laughter lines. Injectable treatments using dermal fillers are often used to slow down the effects of ageing where there has been volume changes to the face, and as a non-surgical alternative to facelifts or brow lifts. All treatments are carried out to the highest professional standard, using hyaluronic acid fillers, a substance that occurs naturally in the skin.

In addition to facial rejuvenation, the clinic offers other treatments to enhance facial appearance, including lip enhancements and dermal fillers for deep folds and contouring, giving volume to the skin and reducing ageing lines.

While our wrinkle reduction treatments can be life changing for many, here at London City Skin Clinic we place a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy, natural look that still celebrates who you uniquely are.

This age-defying effect can last three to six months before gradually fading. Not only can this treatment be repeated, but frequent applications can often also result in lines and wrinkles in certain areas becoming less deep, which means longer intervals can be left between future treatments.

All treatments carry a degree of minor risk. Any risks and complications will be discussed with you at consultation. However, as your treatment will be administered by an aesthetic medical professional with specialist training, adverse events are uncommon.

After treatment, it is expected that you will start to see smoother, fresher skin within 3 or 4 days. The full result will be visible in 2-3 weeks.

The needle used is extremely fine and treatments have minimal discomfort.

The majority of patients continue with their regular day to day activities, although you are advised not to exercise for 24 hours after treatment, and to avoid excessive heat such as sauna and steam for 48 hours. You are advised not to touch the treatment areas with your hands for the first few hours to prevent any infection, and to avoid alcohol for 24 hours to minimise the risk of bruising.

Some people can experience a little redness, which should settle within an hour.

Bruising or swelling may be more apparent the next day, and can take a few days to completely fade. Any tenderness should settle within 48 hours.
